The airship Roma. This is one of four photos from my grandfather's (Harry D. Treadway) photo collection. I will add more information later.
I have a large collection of photos from my grandfather, who was a pioneer aerial photographer in the 1920s through to 1947. I want to share these pictures with relatives and friends who might find them fascinating.

Roma, the largest semi-rigid ever built in the world. This was the first semi-rigid airship by C. Usuelli, E. Prassone, U. Nobile, and G. Crocco with a triangular keel, vertex downward-looking. Since then, same was used in all Nobile’s airships. The last was built in Soviet Union. Ill-fated, she crashed into the hillside in 1938, with death toll of 13 from 19 onboard.
A book about Roma was published recently: Sheppard, N. E. (2016). The Airship Roma Disaster in Hampton Roads. Arcadia Publishing Inc.
